2026 Lexus TX
When I test-drove the 2026 Lexus TX, the smoothness was immediately noticeable. The standard 2.4-liter turbocharged inline-4 produces 275 horsepower and 317 lb-ft of torque, delivering strong low-end response that feels well suited for merging onto the New Jersey Turnpike or passing traffic on I-287. Power delivery is refined, quiet, and consistent, and the suspension filters out rough pavement extremely well.
With available all-wheel drive, the TX feels stable in heavy rain, winter slush, and uneven road conditions around Middlesex County.
Whether I’m moving through downtown Edison or cruising toward Princeton, the TX always feels controlled, confident, and easy to drive.
2026 Acura MDX
The 2026 MDX uses a 3.5-liter V6 producing 290 horsepower and 267 lb-ft of torque. It offers strong acceleration and a sportier tone, especially when equipped with Acura’s SH-AWD system. However, the ride is firmer, and road feel is more pronounced — which can become tiring on longer highway drives.
While the MDX performs well, it doesn’t match the Lexus TX’s overall ride refinement and quietness.
